"Belt and Road" Strategy Yields Fruit Again, Sinokle Successfully cooperation in the Republic of the Congo for Comprehensive Treatment Project of Larg

Following the successful application of Sinokle Technology's complete set of CDFU Cyclonic Dissolved gas Flotation Unit oil-water separation equipment in the Bangladesh heavy oil power plant oil tank cut water treatment project in 2020, Sinokle has recently signed a contract for a comprehensive treatment project for oil field wastewater in the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville). This is another important achievement of Sinokle Technology in response to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative.

The "Belt and Road" Initiative is an important strategy proposed by President Xi Jinping to promote connectivity and common development among countries along the route. As one of the important countries in Africa, the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville) has abundant oil resources and has extensive cooperation potential with Chinese enterprises in the energy field.

It is reported that this oil field is the first oil field development cooperation project between China and the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), which is of great significance. The oil field covers a total area of 930 square kilometers and produces over 4 million tons of crude oil annually. As an important supporting facility for the oil field, the environmental protection water treatment facility is closely related to the stable production and expansion of the oil field. The main goal of this project is to comprehensively treat the wastewater produced by the large oil field in the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), achieve sustainable use of resources, and protect the environment. As a leader among Chinese environmental protection enterprises, Keleer Technology has won the trust of domestic and foreign customers with its advanced technical strength and rich project experience. The smooth signing of the project contract reflects Keleer's leading position in the field of oil field wastewater comprehensive treatment and its competitiveness in the international market.

The oil field wastewater mainly consists of mixed wastewater from the central processing facility (3,500 t/d), fracturing flowback fluid (1,000 t/d), and drilling wastewater (100 t/d). The high mineralization degree, large suspended solids content, high emulsified oil content, and complex composition of the mixed wastewater from the oil field make its treatment more difficult. The fracturing flowback fluid generated during the fracturing process has the characteristics of complex pollutant composition, high concentration, high viscosity, and high treatment difficulty, making it one of the more challenging wastewater types in the oil field.

To achieve standard discharge of oil field wastewater and considering the characteristics of fracturing flowback fluid in the Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville), Sinokle Technology has adopted an integrated technical solution centered around equipment such as the polymerized oil removal device, CDOF (Cyclonic Dissolved Ozone Flotation Unit), CDFU (Cyclonic Dissolved gas Flotation Unit), and KFM (activated filter media filter) to economically and efficiently solve the wastewater treatment problems in the oil field.

The CDOF integrated unit creatively combines multiple technologies such as ozone catalytic oxidation, swirl technology, and dissolved gas flotation to achieve efficient comprehensive oxidation and removal of various pollutants in difficult-to-treat wastewater. The Cyclonic Dissolved gas Flotation technology combines swirl centrifugal separation technology, a new generation of dissolved gas technology, and high-efficiency flotation separation technology. Through the combined action of swirl, nano-bubbles generated by dissolved air, and a specially designed high-efficiency flotation method, the flotation efficiency is greatly improved, the flotation residence time is shortened, and efficient and rapid oil and suspended solids removal is achieved. The KFM activated filter media filter uses a new type of pollution-resistant, oxygen-activated modified filter media produced abroad. By optimizing the internal water distribution, water collection structure, and backwashing process of the filter, and selecting the appropriate backwashing intensity and backwashing time according to the water quality, the filter reduces backwashing water consumption, improves wastewater treatment efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and saves costs.

This process scheme has the following specific characteristics:

  1. Combination of Multiple Technologies: The combination of ozone oxidation and air flotation is used to remove colloids and emulsified oil in wastewater. The oil-water separation efficiency is high, the effect is stable, and the treatment efficiency is not affected by changes in wastewater or oil quality (the original water is a mixture of three streams, making stable separation difficult).

  2. Primary Physical Separation with Minimal Coagulant Usage: The process relies mainly on physical separation with minimal or no use of coagulants. This leads to good separation efficiency, stable performance, minimal or no secondary pollution, reduced generation of oily sludge (hazardous waste), fewer supporting equipment requirements, lower investment, and operating costs, providing good economic and environmental benefits.

  3. Small Footprint: The equipment occupies a small area, only 1/5 of traditional coagulation-precipitation-filtration equipment, significantly reducing infrastructure investment, saving land resources, and substantially shortening the project construction period.

  4. Fully Automated Control: The system is fully automated, allowing for precise control and optimization of equipment operation based on changes in influent water quality. This reduces energy consumption, decreases manual operation, lowers maintenance costs, and ensures stable and reliable performance.

This technology has been successfully applied in projects such as refining oily wastewater, oilfield produced water treatment, and heavy oil power plant oil tank water treatment. The overall operational performance of each project's equipment is good, meeting technical requirements and receiving positive feedback from owners.
